We built the tool we wish we'd had.

For three years I worked in an immigration cabinet. Files crossed my desk every day — engineers, cooks, nurses, welders, accountants. People who had already done the hard part. They had the years of work, the diplomas, the language scores. What they usually did not have was a way to prove that the job they had actually done matched the occupation code the system expected them to claim.

You start to recognize the shape of it. A reference letter that describes someone's job perfectly in plain language and matches nothing in the National Occupational Classification. A job title that means one thing inside the company and something else to an officer. Nobody lied. Nobody cut a corner. The file simply did not say the thing it needed to say — and by the time anyone found out, it was a refusal letter. Months gone. Fees gone. Sometimes a work permit expiring while they waited to start over.

I assumed I was just seeing an unlucky sample. So we counted. We classified 1,803 Federal Court immigration decisions from 1992 to 2026 by what each refusal was actually fought over. Work experience and NOC classification came back as the single biggest disputed ground — bigger than education, language, funds and misrepresentation combined. It was never my desk. It is the system's largest failure point, and it has been for thirty years.

That number is the reason this site exists. Everything you need to catch those problems early is already public — the codes, the duties, the thresholds, the cut-offs. It is just unusable in the form it gets published in. So we made it usable, and we made it free, because the people most likely to be caught by a classification error are exactly the people least able to pay someone to catch it for them. You should be able to find out where you stand before you spend a dollar. That is the entire idea.
