Electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR)

The Electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) is the online system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to manage and process applications for permanent residence in Canada. This digital platform allows applicants to submit their applications, supporting documents, and fees securely online, replacing traditional paper-based submissions for many immigration streams.

The eAPR system is designed to streamline the application process, ensuring that all necessary information is provided in a standardized format. Once an applicant receives an invitation to apply or is eligible to submit an application, they will typically be directed to create an account within the IRCC secure portal to access the eAPR. This includes uploading required forms, supporting documents, and making payments.

Using the eAPR system helps IRCC maintain efficient processing times and provides applicants with a clear, trackable method for submitting their journey towards becoming a permanent resident of Canada. It is crucial for applicants to ensure all information and documents are accurately uploaded as per the specific program requirements when using the eAPR.
