Family Sponsorship
Canada's Family Sponsorship program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor eligible family members to become permanent residents in Canada. This pathway aims to reunite families and strengthen communities. Eligible family members can include spouses, common-law partners, conjugal partners, dependent children, parents, and grandparents.
The sponsorship process involves both the sponsor and the applicant. The sponsor must meet certain requirements, including age, residency, and financial ability, to demonstrate they can support the sponsored person. The sponsored person must also meet admissibility criteria, such as health and security checks. Applications are processed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
