Start-up Visa
The Start-up Visa Program is an immigration pathway for entrepreneurial individuals who want to establish a business in Canada. This program connects eligible start-up founders with Canadian organizations, such as designated venture capital funds, angel investor groups, or business incubators, to provide them with the necessary capital and support to launch their ventures.
To be eligible, applicants must have a qualifying business idea, demonstrate sufficient settlement funds, meet language proficiency requirements (English or French), and obtain a Letter of Support from a designated Canadian organization. This letter confirms that the organization is investing in or has committed to supporting the applicant's business. The program aims to attract innovative entrepreneurs who can contribute to Canada's economy by creating jobs and fostering growth.
Successful applicants under the Start-up Visa Program can obtain a Canadian work permit to come to Canada and develop their business, while their application for permanent residence is processed. This program is managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
