A resource-rich North with a community-driven nominee program.
The Northwest Territories pairs a resource-driven economy with employer- and community-led recruitment. Newcomers immigrate through federal Express Entry and the Northwest Territories Nominee Program.
Employer-sponsored skilled and entry-level workers, Francophone candidates, and entrepreneurs.
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) nominates workers, Francophone candidates, and entrepreneurs for permanent residence through Employer-Driven, Francophone, and Business streams. In 2026 it moved its employer-driven stream to an Expression of Interest model with periodic draws. The territory's allocation is small and rules change — confirm on the official ImmigrateNWT site.
